THE WORLD STUDENT TRAVEL ORGANISATION
An eccentric family who used to live on an island in the Caribbean has decided to donate the island to the World Student Travel Organisation. Along with the island, the organization received two million dollars. The money, however, must be used to transform the island into an international student center. It will be a place to meet students, to study, and to have a good time.
You have been chosen to be part of the team that will design and develop the center. Your work is to convert the island into the student center and to develop a concept for it, complete with activities, courses, sports, etc… Then, you will create the pamphlet or website that will be used to advertise the student center. This is going to be an important publicity tool. It should answer all the students’ questions.
Important: Most of the activities that will be organized must be related to a theme.
The Roles:
Your job is to determine the criteria for selecting students, to provide general details about their stay, and to describe the courses that will be offered to them.
Your job is to come up with social activities and other forms of entertainment that will be offered at the student center and to draw up a schedule for them.
Your job is to describe the sports and fitness services that will be offered on the island and to draw up a schedule for them.
Architect & Director of Services:
Your job is to describe the living arrangements and services that will be made available to the students.
Each person will be asked to present his or her ideas to the team and will have to hand in a detailed report of the decisions that will have been taken with the team.

A distinctive flag or logo to identify the center
An attractive picture representing the center
The name of the island and the address of the administration office
All the information that the participants need to know concerning the activities, courses, and services offered on the island.
A schedule for the courses, activities and sports
A map of the island with the important sites and buildings identified
Pictures to illustrate some of the activities
Colour

Evaluation:
You will be evaluated for each of the following criteria:
Team work: cooperation and the use of English at all times.
Your preparation folder: Must include the 4 handouts and the identification sheet. Your teacher will pay extra attention to the quality of English and the originality.
The pamphlet or web site: Important: quality of English, complete information, all the elements are included, quality of the presentation, originality, seriousness, theme-related.
